Rida Al Abdullah (also spelled "Ridha Al Abdullah", "Reda Al Abdullah"; born ) is an Iraqi singer. He gained enormous attention across the Arab world for his single "Weinkom Ya Arab" ("Where are the Arabs"), which was a protest song against the war 2006 Lebanon-Israeli war.

Biography

Early life

As a child he always had aspirations of becoming a singer, so he attended Baghdad Institute for Fine Arts, and studied the art of the Iraqi Oud (lute), finishing in the top ten of his class. In 1996, he left Iraq and headed to Jordan, where more opportunities awaited him. After spending four years there, he to Dubai where he launched "Milih wil zad" ("Salt and Food"), which is a song from Iraqi folklore, and this established him into the Arab world.
