Ross Jones

Ross A. Jones (born January 14, 1960 in Miami, Florida) is a former Major League Baseball player. Jones was drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 1st round as the 9th pick in the 1980 draft. He would make his debut for the New York Mets in 1984. He played 17 games, and had one hit in ten at-bats. He would not play in the 1985 season, but would return in 1986, with the Seattle Mariners, having two hits in 21 at-bats, a .095 batting average. In 1987, Jones was traded to the Kansas City Royals for Minor Leaguer Ricky Rojas. Jones played in 39 games in 1987, with a .254 batting average. After the season was over, He signed a contract with the Oakland Athletics, but never played a game with them.
