Ching Shin Elementary and Junior High School and Kindergarten (Chinese: 靜心國民中小學暨幼稚園), is a private, coeducational school, abbreviated as Ching Shin School. The school is located in Wenshan, Taipei. The school serves approximately 2410 students. The former address of the school is located on Guiyang St., Wanhua, Taipei. The school migrated to the present address in 1967.

History

Ching Shin School was established in February 1951, located in Wanhua, Taipei. The school was named as Ching Shin Children Wonderland (靜心兒童樂園). There was only kindergarten beforetime. Ching Shin Elementary School was established later by Chiang Wei-kuo, in 1956.

In 1967, the board of education purchased the new ground in Wenshan District. The school migrated there in the same year.

Ching Shin Junior High School was established later in 1968, and serves around 200 students.

Classes

There are 36 classes in the elementary school, each grade has 6 classes. And there are 18 classes in the junior high school, 10 classes in the kindergarten. Each grade has 6 classes in the junior high school.

The classes in the elementary and junior high school are named with the Eight Virtues (八德). Only 6 of them are used: "Zhong, Xiao, Ren, Ai, Xin, Yi" (忠,孝,仁,愛,信,義). For example, the second class in sixth grade is named "6 Xiao" (六孝).

The classes in the kindergarten are named with some objects, usually fruits. For example, the first class is named "Strawberry Class" (草莓班), and the second class is named "Moon Class" (月亮班).
