Albania and Radio Televizioni Shqiptar (RTSH) will be present at the Eurovision Song Contest 2009 in Moscow, marking their sixth performance at the contest.cite web|url=http://esctoday.com/news/read/12164|title=Albania: First country to pick song for ESC again|publisher="ESCToday"|date=2008-07-22|accessdate=2008-07-22|author=Romkes, René] They will use the Festivali i Këngës competition to select the Albanian entrant and this year's contest will be fronted by a new artistic director, Albanian composer and singer Pirro Çako.

At Eurovision

Since Albania is not one of the "Big Four" and is not the host of the 2009 contest, it will have to compete in one of the two semi-finals.
