Total skate area is 34,000 sq. ft. The main course has a capacity of 125 skaters and the outside can handle another 75 skaters. Competitions
Progressive Skatepark has partnered with 3rd Lair Skatepark in Minneapolis, Minnesota in hosting The Rise of the Gromm Competition. Having participated in the event annually since 2005, Rise of the Gromm offers a competition purely designed for skateboarders at or under the age of 12. The winners - along with receiving hoards of prizes - also are presented with an invitation to the finals at 3rd Lair.
In 2008, Progressive Skatepark hosted the King of the Park Contest presented by Oakley and Red Bull. This competition is open to ams across the world and follows a format completely unique to itself. Rather than adhere to conventional "skate then pick finalists formats", King of the Park uses an elimination method similar to that of the NCAA Tournaments: head to head skating, double elimination brackets. 2008's winner was Timmy Knuth, with runner-up Solomon Mosley, Jr.
While the above contests attract skateboarders nationwide, Progressive also hosts a weekly contest series wherein competitors compete every Tuesday night for eight weeks. With as many as four series per year, the contests have experienced great success over the past few years.
