Toni McAllister

Toni McAllister (formerly Toni Smothermon), born in 1962, is an American author. She is best-known for her published works on horses. She has authored hundreds of magazine articles about horse care and horse health, and has served in various editorial positions for equestrian-themed magazines. She has authored several books, most notably the "Simple Solutions" series about horse care. A comprehensive book on horse care by McAllister is expected for release in 2010 (from BowTie Press). In recent years, McAllister has also written magazine articles unrelated to equestrian themes, but most are focused on sports activities.Born in Santa Barbara County, Calif., McAllister is the oldest of three children. She has two younger brothers. She attended Santana High School in Santee, Calif., and holds a bachelor's degree in Journalism from California State University, Long Beach. McAllister has spent most of her life in Southern California, and currently resides in Murrieta, Calif., where she continues to write about horses and sports.
