Whegs

Whegs are a series of robots developed at the Biologically Inspired Robotics Laboratory at Case Western Reserve University. Whegs utilize a strategy of locomotion which combines the simplicity of wheels with the obstacle clearing advantages of legs .

The Whegs robots are inspired by the Prolero robot, designed in 1996 at the European Space Agency, and the RHex robot, developed by a multiuniversity DARPA funded effort [ [http://biorobots.cwru.edu/projects/whegs/ Whegs Series Robots] ] .
