"Al-Quds Al-Arabi" ( _ar. القدس العربی), (English: "Arab
Jerusalem ") is an independentpan-Arab dailynewspaper published inLondon since1989 . The paper is owned byPalestinian expatriates , and edited byAbd al-Bari Atwan who was born in a Palestinianrefugee camp inGaza Strip in1950 . Due to its strongcriticism of the Arabregimes and their perceived "obedience" to the U.S. &Israel , the paper has beencensored and sometimes temporarily banned inEgypt ,Jordan ,Saudi Arabia , andSyria . It has a circulation of around 50,000.This newspaper was the first, or among the first, to publish a number of communiqués threatening, and taking responsibility for, Islamist and terrorist violence. Those include the
fatāwā of Osama bin Laden and several statements from the person or people who sign themselves theAbu Hafs al-Masri Brigades . Talking about Iran's nuclear capability on ANB Lebanese television on June 27, Abd Al-Bari Atwan, editor-in-chief of Al-Quds Al-Arabi, encountered stern criticism when he said, "If the Iranian missiles strike Israel, by Allah, I will go toTrafalgar Square and dance with delight."
