Ben Davis High School in Indianapolis, where she was aParade All-American and was named the 2006 Gatorade Player of the Year. She graduated midyear to train full-time with the U.S. U-20 team for theFIFA U-20 Women's World Cup .In the fall of 2006, Cheney enrolled at UCLA, where she was named a first-team All-American and
NSCAA Freshman of the Year. As a sophomore in 2007, she was the runner-up for the women'sHermann Trophy . In 2007, Cheney played for the U.S. team at the2007 Pan American Games .Cheney made her first appearance for the senior U.S. women's team on January 26, 2007, against Germany. Cheney, a forward, was named to the U.S. roster for the
