The Global Peace Festival is a free event where everyone from around the nation comes and enjoys speeches, contests, and even concerts. The event is meant to bring everyone from around the country to one location to be apart of something greatly created. [ [http://gpfusa.org/] ]
History and Beginnings (2006 - 2008)
The first "Global Peace Festival" was held in 2006 in the Araneta Coliseum in Manila, Philippines and in Paraguay, which were great successes. At that event, the GPF Chair & CEO, Dr.
Hyun Jin Moon , declared the launch of a series of Global Peace Festivals worldwide. Since then, people of all faiths have gathered in countries around the world to seize the moment of hope and change to start a worldwide movement of peace and reconciliation.Another GPF Festivals were held in
UK ,Benin ,Germany ,France ,Philippines ,Korea , andIsrael . Thousands of people from across the world and theUnited States have begun to reach out to one another to work for global peace through acts of kindness and service that demonstrate compassion for others, love of family, and peace by uniting in service to help one another.Current Events
Global Peace Festival 2008
The United States is one of 18-countries in 2008 to host a Global Peace Festival and Rally to launch the movement with faith leaders of all denominations, community, civic and political leaders, cultural artists, and youth. Also,
Yolanda Adams andDavid Phelps , along with the Global Peace Interfaith Choir performed at the previous festival in Washington, DC [ [http://gpfusa.org/wp/wp-content/uploads/2008/08/general-hyun-jin-moon-8-04-08-1.png] ] . The festival was a big success and had about close to 10,000 people there, making it it successful.Global Peace Festival 2010
It is yet to be announced if another festival will take in the future, according to some rumors, the next US based festival might be held in the Summer of 2010, however, this date is tentative and can change later on.
