The Foundation of KAL
During her second year of attendance at
Clark Atlanta University , K.E. Banks was on a path of self-discovery. Over the course of that year, she embraced her personal orientation as a lesbian woman, and sought to assist the LGBT community in fighting prejudice and intolerance.Recognizing that such a goal could not be reached alone, Miss Banks researched a variety of organizations created for lesbian women. Though many focused on the philanthropic aspects of the community, few combined these aspirations with the idea of a lifelong Sisterly bond that inspired Members to continue their service to the organization and community throughout.
