Paul Walsh (born
Dublin ,Ireland ) is the lead singer of Irish bandRoyseven .Walsh was raised in Clonmel, Co. Tipperary. There he attended the High School CBS. He was a member of the local youth drama group and appeared in several musical productions during his teenage years. He was also a talented singer and during this time he sang for his first band "Swerve". "Swerve" independently released an album entitled "Nine of Wands".
Walsh moved to London when he finished secondary school, returning to join Dublin band "Jove". Jove disbanded and reformed with an altered line-up in 2003. This new group was called "Royseven".
Royseven secured a record deal with
Universal Records in 2005. In that same year they recorded their debut album "The Art of Insincerity". The album was released in 2006 and achieved top twenty status, with their first single "older" entering the charts at #6 in their home country. The album was also released in Europe where the band toured extensively playing Rock Am Ring, Rock im Park, Montreux Jazz Festival, Bochum Total, Locarno Fest and supported Brian Adams for five major European dates. Walshs band followed up this success by winning two awards in 2007: Meteor "Hope for 2007" and The Balcony TV Awards "Best Band".Paul Walsh also contributes to Irish television shows and has presented some, e.g: TTV/Classic Jam. Currently Royseven are in production on their second album.
