(2011)Most championships HJK (22) Website naistenliiga.fi Naisten Liiga ("Women's League") is the highest division of women's football in Finland. The competition was first held in 1971. Up to 2006 it was known as Naisten SM-sarja ("Women's Finnish championship series").
The league consists of 12 clubs who play two rounds with a total of 22 matches per team in a season. At the end of the season the 12th placed team is relegated to the second level and the 11th placed team continues to relegation play-offs. The league champion qualifies for the next season's UEFA Women's Champions League.
