IL-34

IL-34

Interleukin-34, or IL-34 is a newly discovered interleukin. It was found in a massive screen of secreted proteins by Lin et al at Five Prime Therapeutics, a company based on the Mission Bay campus of UCSF. IL-34 increases monocyte viablity and acts through its receptor colony-stimulating factor 1. The protein is 39 kilodaltons in size and forms homodimers.
