The University of Piraeus ( _el. Πανεπιστήμιο Πειραιώς) is a university in Piraeus, Greece. Originally founded in 1938 by the Industrialists and Tradesmen Association under the name "School for Industrial Studies", the university has evolved from its original focus on business management. In 1966, it became a public university, and in 1989 it received its current name. The university currently provides instruction and degrees in the fields of economics, business administration, statistics and insurance science, financial management and banking, industrial management, maritime studies, informatics and technology teachers' education. Currently under proposal with the Ministry of National Education and Religious Affairs is the inclusion of additional fields of study such as medicine, social administration, European legal studies, primary education, infant education, and tourist economy.

The University is also home to The University of Piraeus Research Center (UPRC) which, since its founding in 1989, has participated in technological research on a national and international level, particularly in areas related to networking and internet technology. Governance

The school is managed by a voting senate, which includes administrative staff and faculty as well as student representatives. Meetings of the senate are overseen by the General Secretary of the University, although the secretary does not participate in voting.
