Mejia or Mejía, also written as Mexia or Mejias, is a Spanish surname of Jewish origin meaning messiah. It was first found in Galicia - an autonomous community in northwest Spain,[3] after the Spanish obliged the Jewish settlers to change their surname to Castillian.[4]
