Amy Joy Rodríguez (born
February 17 ,1987 ,Lake Forest, California ) is an American soccer player and member of theUnited States women's national soccer team .Rodriguez attended Santa Margarita High School, where she was a
Parade All-American in 2003 and 2004 and the Gatorade Player of the Year in 2005. In the fall of 2008, she will begin her senior year at theUniversity of Southern California ; as a junior in 2007, she led USC to anNCAA Division I championship. After playing for several U.S. national youth teams, she made her first appearance for the senior team against Finland on March 11, 2005. By the spring of 2008, she had become a regular at forward, and started four of five games at the2008 Summer Olympics , scoring against New Zealand. Rodriguez had appeared in 18 senior team matches going into the Olympics.In the
2008 Summer Olympics women's football gold medal game against Brazil, Rodriguez provided the assist onCarli Lloyd 's game winning goal in the first period of extra time.
