"' The Bahria College Islamabad is a noted college in Islamabad formed by the Pakistan Navy in the 1980s. Since its establishment,it has continued to be one of the best colleges in Pakistan.

Venue

The Bahria College Islamabad is located in the E-8 sector of Islamabad in the Naval Complex in close vicinity to the Faisal Mosque.

The Building

Bahria College boasts of a magnificent building built of red bricks and possessing an extensive area for parking.Fact|date=August 2008 There are 2 basketball courts and 2 playing grounds inside the school. The building is 3 stories and the class rooms are spacious, capable of containing at least 40 students comfortably. A separate parking area is reserved for the teachers, Principal and Vice Principal.

Education

Bahria College Islamabad (commonly abbreviated as BCI) provides education to students from Kindergarten up to the intermediate level/A level.The school is divided into 4 sections namely: 1:The Primary Wing (education up to the 5th grade) 2:The Boys' Wing (education up to intermediate) 3:The Girls' Wing (education up to intermediate) 4:The Cambridge Wing (education of GSC and GCSC)

There is no mixing of students in the Girls' and Boys' Wings, but there is co-education in the Cambridge section.

Faculty

The college's faculty comprises male and female experienced teachers who are usually qualified up to Master's level.

Discipline

Bahria College is famous for its strict rules and regulations. A discipline committee consists of teachers and students who are responsible for maintaining discipline inside the college. Students of class 2nd year are given ranks "id est": 1:College Captain (Highest rank awarded to a student) 2:Deputy College Captain 3:Sports Captain 4:House captain 5:Prefect The CC controls the overall activities held in college according to instructions of teachers. The sports captain is responsible for sports activities. There are 5 house captains which control their respective houses (TIPU house, JINNAH house, ZAFAR house, IQBAL house and Sir Syed House). All of these are awarded "sashes" which represent their authority. Each Wing (excluding the Primary Wing) has their own College Captains, House Captains e.t.c.

Library

The Bahria College Islamabad boasts of three spacious libraries. The Central library is common to the Boys' and Girls' Wing whereas the Cambridge and the Primary Wing have their own libraries. Every student and faculty member can avail the advantage of these libraries. Books can be issued by members,for a limited duration of 2 weeks.

Computer Labs

There are several computer labs in the college, each of which contains modern PCs equipped with Broadband and printer facility. WiFi is absent, although computers are interconnected through a Local Area Network.

The Eureka Project

An Interactive Project, namely the Eureka Project (constructed by Designmate of India) was purchased and launched in Bahria College Islamabad. It comprised many animations for all the science subjects and Mathematics which could be shown to the students on a Projector. Its duration was an year and lasted from 2007-2008.

The Cafeteria

A cafeteria is present in the College which provides a full menu to the students and the faculty members (Boys' Wing only). A new cafeteria has also been made for the Girls' Wing and plans are being made for making a cafeteria for the Cambridge Wing as well.

Staff rooms

Staff rooms are present in each wing, in which the faculty members stay when they aren't teaching. Students are allowed to seek help from teachers in the staff rooms.For the Cambridge side, a new staffroom (for female teachers)has been made.

Ceremonies and Functions

Numerous ceremonies and functions are held in the college at different times of the year; the most notable being the Annual Function. It consists of many entertaining plays and skits produced by talented students. The Chief of the Naval Staff is almost always the Chief Guest of this event. Most of the prizes and awards are delivered to students on this day. It is generally followed by a holiday.

The Principal

The College is under the authority of a Principal who is a Navy Officer holding the rank of Commodore.The principal holds the right to suspend or expel students.
