He is married and has one daughter Maria (born 1987) and son Leonid (born 2001).He started to take music classes under the direction of Sofija Moisseevna Karpilovskaya - student of Elena Fabianovna Gnesina. Vladimir learned to play guitar just as piano. He was particularly influenced by
The Beatles . In the end of 1960's, Vladimir started to play in different rock bands, piano, guitar, bass-guitar. This is when he starts writing his first songs, in English and not in Russian surprisingly.His major success: the song Lavender he wrote for
Sofia Rotaru , was awarded golden disc byMelodiya .Currently he lives and works in Moscow.
