From 1889 to 1918, the Paris Mountain Water Company created the first water system for Greenville, building numerous lakes and dams on Paris Mountain. The water system was purchased by the City of Greenville, whom operated the system at Paris Mountain until a new reservoir at Table Rock was created.cite web|url=http://www.greenvillewater.com/BE0D86E5466E4BBC98329BAF1C4FC1B5.asp?page=1|date=2008-08-01|title="Greenville Water System History"] In 1935, the city donated the land for use as a state park. The
Civilian Conservation Corps developed the park, building many of the facilities still in use.External links
