George Meegan

George Meegan

"George Meegan" (b. circa 1952) is a British long-distance walker best known for his unbroken walk of the entire Western hemisphere from the tip of South America to the top of Alaska, 19,019 miles in 2,425 days from 1977 to 1983. The walk documented in his book "The Longest Walk" (1988). Meegan has appeared often in the press including NBC Today show three times, CBS Morning News and on Larry King Live. Meegan lives in both England and Japan with his wife, Yoshiko; they have two children.
