Transfesa

Transfesa is the trading name and brand, a portmenau of Transportes Ferroviarios Especiales SA a Spanish based rail transport company based in Madrid, Spain.

Founded in 1943, it is a transport and logistics service provider and European intermodal operator. With around 1,000 employees, in 2005 it operated 3,309 million tonne-km and had a turnover of around €290 million; while in 2006 its revenues reached €291 million.

In August 2007 it was announced that German railway company Deutsche Bahn would be acquiring a majority stake in the company, before which it was one of the private rail freight operators in Spain.
