Paul Smernicki

Paul Smernicki

Paul Smernicki is one of the founders of the relaunched Fiction Records along with Joe Munns and Jim Chancellor. Smernicki is now Head of Digital for Polydor Records, and also a member of the band South Playground with Glasgow Rangers and Scotland football player Christian Dailly.Paul Smernicki had a difficult upbringing and spent a number of years working as a Jam boy in the numerous jute factories in Dundee. However, being an ever enterprising individual, Paul started to use the sacks to print and circulate fanzines of popular local bands, and quickly escaped the punishing working conditions of the factories and his Jam boy career. As a child Smernicki endured wild disturbing visions (thought to have been induced by over consumption of Mountain_dew) and was often found scouting around the Sidlaw Hills searching for a Scottish Sasquatch.
