Waterpistol was an American Emo/Indie rock band from Boston, Massachusetts. The band had several line-up changes but for most of its history it was: Raymond Moorhouse on vocals, Christopher Martell on guitar, Michael Ostrowski on bass, Thomas Briana on drums, and Harris Schoenfarber on guitar/vocals.

Waterpistol's History

Formed in 1998 in Springfield, Massachusetts by Raymond Moorhouse, Christopher Martell, and Michael Ostrowski. The band was completed by Toby Zimmerman (guitar and vocals) and Thomas Briana. The band was part of the indie rock scene at the UMass Amherst in the late 1990s. Waterpistol released their first album the 7-inch record "Sticks and Stones Theory" in 1998. It was recorded by Justin Grimes in Chris Martell's parent's basement.

Toby Zimmerman left the band to pursue other projects and was replaced by Harris Schoenfarber in 2000. In 2000 Waterpistol released their second album, a self-titled EP that was recorded in October 2000 at The Small Church in Boston by Michael Poorman of the Shyness Clinic and Hot Rod Circuit. From that same session, the band recorded "This Is What I Get", which appeared on "Deep Elm Records Emo Diaries Seven: Me Against the World" (2002). The band went back into the studio in March 2001 and recorded at The Small Church with Michael Poorman the full-length album "Between Here and There Is Everything" and it was released in 2002.

In 2002, the band relocated to Boston. In May 2003 they recorded their last album a 4 song EP titled "The Subway EP" at God City in Norwood, Massachusetts. It was also recorded by Michael Poorman. In 2004 Raymond Moorhouse left the band and was replaced by Peter Weiland (vocals and guitar), who had first learned of the band years before when he saw them open for Piebald in Northampton, Massachusetts.

Waterpistol toured extensively throughout the eastern United States opening for such bands as Rainer Maria, Piebald, Thursday, the Stryder, the MovieLife, and others. It also played numerous local shows throughout New England and Massachusetts including Boston, Springfield, and Northampton, gaining a reputation for putting on an energetic performance.

Waterpistol broke up in January 2005. The former members have been in several bands: Video Games, Hepburn (US), Four Squares, A Great Big Pile of Leaves, Brand Name Safe, and A Farewell to Arms.
