variants with their own articles =The Avro 527 was the last
Avro two-seat fighter derivative of the basicAvro 504 design. It was built early in 1916 for trial by theRoyal Flying Corps , with all the features of an Avro 504 but with a vastly different fuselage. There was provision for a 7.7mmLewis Gun in the rear cockpit.Operational History
When trialled by the RFC, pilots found that it did not climb well and that their view was obscured by the large Nubian engine at the front. As a result, production was discontinued and only one aircraft was ever made.
