Capron Park Zoo

For over half a century, the Capron Park Zoo has been a premiere recreational attraction in southern New England. We are proud to provide the public with educational programs and recreational activities dedicated to the understanding of animals from all over the world.

It is our goal to reach our visitors with the values of animal conservation, ecological awareness, and appreciation of all living things. We hope that our efforts will increase everyone's awareness and sensitivity in our community and beyond.

The Capron Park Zoo is located in Attleboro, Massachusetts. The zoo is an accredited member of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) and Association of Zoo and Aquarium Docents (AZAD). It also participates in the Species Survival Plan program.

Exhibits

The zoo offers an array of exhibits, such as North and South American, Asian, African and Australian animals. The collection includes twin lions, sloth bears, snow leopards, kangaroos, meerkats and other unusual animals. In 2008 the zoo received a new white lion, which is on display with the twin lionesses.

Education

Capron Park Zoo offers an education department for children, to promote the importance of environmental education. It was started in 1991, and since then grew gradually in the number of programs offered, and in the attendance rate of children. The education department also teaches children about the interaction between animals, and how the zoo works.
