Greg Isdaner (born February 25, 1987 in Gladwyne, Pennsylvania) is an American football offensive lineman for the West Virginia Mountaineers football team.

Early life

Greg Isdaner began his football career at Episcopal Academy in Pennsylvania, where he was a first-team all-conference and third-team all-state selection as a senior. Isdaner, the offensive tackle and defensive tackle, was only offered a scholarship by West Virginia University.

Collegiate career

Freshman season (2005)

In Greg Isdaner's first season at West Virginia, the freshman was redshirted but won scout team honors.

Redshirt-Freshman season (2006)

In 2006, Greg Isdaner became the starter at left guard after the first game of the season, joining Rimington Trophy winner Dan Mozes and future All-American Ryan Stanchek on the line. Isdaner earned Freshman All-American honors on the season and Freshman all-Big East honors.

Redshirt-Sophomore season (2007)

After his strong freshman season blocking for star running back Steve Slaton, Isdaner returned as a starter with All-American Ryan Stanchek to anchor the line for both quarterback Patrick White's and Slaton's 1,000 yard rushing season. Isdaner saw action in over 850 plays over the season at left guard, including over 60 plays in nine games. He also had five or more knockdowns in eight games, including a season-high nine knockdowns against Louisville. Along with helping the offense rank in the top 10 in fewest sacks allowed, they also ranked nationally in rushing, scoring, and total offense.

Isdaner earned Sophomore All-American, first-team all-Big East, ESPN All-Bowl Team, and ESPN all-Film honors prior to the end of the season. He also won the team Ideal Mountaineer Man Award, presented by the West Virginia coaching staff.

Redshirt-Junior season (2008)

Isdaner returns to the 2008 season as one of the most experienced leaders on the offensive line, only behind senior All-American Ryan Stanchek.
