Beerse is a municipality located in the Belgian province of Antwerp. The municipality comprises the towns of Beerse proper and Vlimmeren. On January 1 2006 Beerse had a total population of 16,482. The total area is 37.48 km² which gives a population density of 447 inhabitants per km². The pharmaceutical company Janssen Pharmaceutica, founded by Dr. Paul Janssen, has its headquarters in Beerse.
