R. B. Naik

R. B. Naik (1904-1970) was the Honorable chairmen of the Karnataka Legislative council Vidhan Parishad (1968 acting and 1970) of the Government of Karnataka, Bangalore. He died of heart attack while he was in office as the chairmen. He was a lawyer by profession, social worker and a politician by necessity. He was an active member of the Congress Party.

Life and career

Ramakrishna Beeranna Naik a Nadavara was born in Hiregutti village, Kumta taluka. He completed BA from the Wilson College, Mumbai and then LLB from the Government Law College, Bombay. He started his career as a lawyer in Kumta. He served as a Member of the Legislative Assembly (India) to the Bombay-Karnataka and worked with Y B Chavan in Bombay. Naik was also a member of the Vidhan Parishad (MLC) to Karnataka sate government. His wife was Bhagirathi Kavari from Torke village.

R. B. Naik died in Bangalore and was cremated in Gokarna near to his village.
