Arnie Zane

Arnie Zane

Arnie Zane (September 26, 1947 - 30 March 30, 1988) was an American dancer and choreographer. Together with Bill T. Jones, Zane founded the Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company in New York City in 1982.

Zane was the second son of an Italian-Jewish immigrant family that owned a luncheonette in Queens, New York.

Zane graduated from State University of New York at Binghamton with a degree in theater and art history. In Binghamton in 1971, Zane met his partner, Bill T Jones, when Zane was working as a photographer. Zane progressively became more interested in choreography than in appearing personally onstage. Zane and Jones moved to New York City from Binghamton in 1979.
