Zeb and Haniya (Zayb and Haa-nee-ya) are a Pakistani popular music group from Kohat, North-West Frontier Province. The band is primarily Lahore-based; however, Haniya’s hometown is Islamabad, and a lot of the work involved takes them to Karachi often. Though the music and sound of Zeb and Haniya is hard to confine to one genre, it has been described at various times as Alternative, Art Folk, Ethnic Blues, World Music and Easy Listening.

Line-up

The band is a project started by two musicians, who are cousins, Zebunnisa Bangash and Haniya Aslam. The duo is supported by leading musicians of Pakistan such as Mekaal Hasan from Mekaal Hasan Band and Omran Shafique from Mauj. Recently, they have appeared in an article published in Newsweek. Their debut music video "Aitebaar" directed by Saqib Malik who is known primarily for his avant-garde music videos, was recently on-air and was appreciated by many critics. Babar Shaikh was supposed to direct Zeb and Haniya's second music video 'Chup!', but the idea has been dropped due to budget reasons.

Chup

Their debut album was released in July 2008 titled "Chup!" (Hush!). Following is the track list of the album:

#Chup
#Rona Chor Diya
#Kabhi Na Kabhi
#Paimana Bitte (Pashto/Darri)
#Kahaan
#Chal Diye
#Ahaan
#Seh Na Sakay
#Aitebar
#Ban Key Touri Jogan
