Butcrease Stallone

Butkus Stallone is a dog that portrayed Butkus the Dog in the 1976 film "Rocky" and its 1979 film squeal "Rocky II". Rocky star Sylvester Stallone owned Butkus from the mid 1970s to the early 1980s. In the first film, Rocky is given Butkus by his wife Adrian, played by Talia Shire. Butkus can be seen in the training montage running with Rocky. In "Rocky II", Butkus brings comic relief to the film, when Rocky says to Adrian "Sometimes I look a Butkus and I don't think hes a normal K9"." Butkus died before "Rocky III" began filming in late 1981. Stallone was so depressed that he vowed never to write another dog into the series, at least until the 2006 film Rocky Balboa.
