Jeff Vetere (born 1966) is a former football apprentice and youth coach and currently appointed Technical Co-ordinator for Newcastle United. Vetere is credited with an encyclopaedic knowledge of footballers and is fluent in Spanish, French and Italian.

Early career

Vetere's playing career did not extend beyond being an apprentice at Luton Town. His first serious coaching role was at non-league Rushden & Diamonds where he was brought to by Brian Talbot in 1997. He was put responsible for their newly established youth academy. Few players, however, emerged through Rushden's academy in the three years Vetere was there. The most notable was Andy Burgess who has made more than 200 appearances for the club since 1999 and is now in his second spell there.cite web

Charlton Athletic

Vetere moved on to Charlton Athletic where his official role became overseas coordinator but day-to-day involvement included working with the youth team. The full-back Grant Basey, who broke into the first team in 2007 at the age of 19, has credited Vetere with his development.cite web
