The Blackburn to Chorley Line was a railway line that served the Blackburn to Chorley area and all the surrounding villages. It was closed to passengers on 4 January 1960 [Marshall, J (1981) "Forgotten Railways: North-West England", David & Charles (Publishers) Ltd, Newton Abbott. ISBN 0 7153 8003 6; p.155] and completely in 1966. It served Blackburn and Chorley and many of the little villages in-between the two towns, with many of its services running to and from Wigan.
