Clearinghouse (GIS)

A clearinghouse in GIS is a repository structure, physical or virtual, that collects, stores, and disseminates information, metadata, and data. A clearinghouse provides widespread access to information and is generally thought of as reaching or existing outside organizational boundaries.[1]
