Dana Paul Goldman (born June 3, 1966) is a senior economist at the RAND Corporation and UCLA, and a professor at USC School of Policy, Planning, and Development. He holds a corporate chair in Health Economics and is the director of the Health Economics, Finance and Organization unit of RAND. He is also the director of the Bing Center for Health Economics, RAND Roybal Center for Health Policy Simulation, and UCLA/RAND Health Services Research Postdoctoral Training Program.
Goldman's professional interests include the innovation of health technology, the future of America's elderly population, the design of insurance, and disparities in health outcomes. Recently, his work has focused on the optimal pricing of pharmaceuticals, thought by many to be central to improving health and containing costs.
Goldman is also the founding co-editor of the Forum for Health Economics and Policy and has been on the editorial board of Health Affairs, B.E. Journals of Economic Analysis and Policy, and the RAND Journal of Economics, among others.
He received his B.A. from Cornell University and a Ph.D. in Economics from Stanford University, and currently lives in Santa Monica, California with his wife, Sandra Hsu, and his two children, Noah and Jared Goldman.
