September 7 ,1973 ) is a Canadian rock vocalist.Born in
Montreal ,Quebec , and raised inNova Scotia , Slone began pursuing classical voice training at the age of 12 with the goal of becoming anopera singer. At 18, she attendedConcordia University to pursue a degree in music. While there, however, she switched her aspirations to acting and rock music, and subsequently moved to Toronto.In
1996 , Slone became the lead singer ofJoydrop . The band released two albums, had chart hits in Canada with "Beautiful", "Spiders" and "Sometimes Wanna Die," and was nominated for aJuno Award .In
1998 , Slone landed a recurring role in "La Femme Nikita". She appeared in three episodes.Since the breakup of Joydrop, Slone has worked on a solo album with
Jordon Zadorozny . Her latest album is "Just Look Pretty and Sing", which was released on March 6, 2007. Singles released include "My Little Secret", "We Were Stars" and "The Perfect Girl."Slone competed on
Rock Star INXS . On week 4, she was again placed in the bottom 3 after her version of "Message in a Bottle". She was then eliminated that week.Tara is currently signed to
Orange Record Label . She now hosts the entertainment program "Inside Jam" on SUN TV in Toronto.Currently resides in Toronto, sharing a house with fellow "
