Originally named Newsround Lite, the show bought you up to date with all you needed to know about the showbiz world. It was presented by either Newsround presenters, Adam, Lizzie, Thalia or Rachel. It aired between 2001 and 2005. It was discontinued due to poor ratings.

The Show

Originally called Newsround Lite, Newsround Showbiz ran from 2001 to 2005. It started as a daily programme and then moved to Saturdays and Sundays. It was hosted by Lizzie, Adam, Rachel or Thalia who were regular Newsround presenters and produced by Sinead Rocks. The show contained entertainment news and gossip and generally took a lighthearted view of the world of celebrity.

Airtime

First the show Newsround Lite aired weekdays at 6:25pm on the CBBC Channel. But due to a lack of stories and not enough viewers it moved to Weekends at 3:50pm and it relaunched as Newsround Showbiz.
