The story initially revolves around a colony of
ant s living in a yard. One ordinary during food collection, one ant returns home with an amazing discovery: A sweet-tasting crystal from thehuman world. Thequeen ant is given the crystal and is immediately satisfied with its sweet taste. Desiring more crystal for herself and her colony, she commissions a large column of ants to venture into the human world to collect a large assortment of these crystals. The ants follow her orders and travel into the kitchen of a nearby human house, where they find a bowl ofsugar crystals. They spend the day collecting this delicacy for their beloved queen.However, two ants, consumed by their own greed, stay behind in the human house, instead preferring to live in the bowl of sugar and feasting on the crystals for the rest of their lives. After consuming a large number of crystals, they fall into a deep sleep, which is interrupted the next morning by one of the human inhabitants, who scoops the sugar and the two ants into a freshly-brewed cup of coffee. The ants barely escape, and become desperate to flee the dangers of the human kitchen. Through a series of unfortunate events, they are trapped in a blender, the sink, get zapped in an electrical outlet, etc. Eventually, the two ants escape largely unharmed and decide they no longer desire to live within the human world. In the end, the two ants collect their own sugar crystals to offer up to their beloved queen.
