Sydney Seaplanes

Sydney Seaplanes

Sydney Seaplanes is a small airline operating from Sydney Harbour's Rose Bay. Rose Bay is one of the world's oldest flying boat bases and when flights began from Rose Bay to Southampton, England in 1938 became Australia's first international airport.

Sydney Seaplanes operates 3 de Havilland Beaver float planes and 1 Cessna Caravan C208 Amphibian. In 2007 Sydney Seaplanes won Best Tour and Transport Operator at the New South Wales Tourism Awards and the same year won The Australian Newspaper Best Innovative Tourism Experience. In June 2008 they began scheduled services between Rose Bay and Newcastle Harbour, operating 8 flights per day, and became Australia's only scheduled seaplane operator.

Sydney Seaplanes aircraft have a distinctive livery of red tails with the Southern Cross Stars and a stylised Opera House symbol on the fuselage.
