Historic Auto Attractions

Historic Auto Attractions is an automobile, history and pop culture museum in Roscoe, Illinois, most known for its large collection of artifacts associated with the John F. Kennedy assassination. It is owned by local racecar owner Wayne Lensing and was opened in 2002. [Historic Auto Attractions Web site]

John F. Kennedy

* The centerpiece of the museum focuses on the assassination of John F. Kennedy, and features the secret service car that followed Kennedy's in the presidential motorcade, the belongings in Kennedy's suitcase on the day of his assassination, the printing press from the Dallas Morning News on November 23, 1963, and a piece of the fence from the infamous grassy knoll.
* The flag that was draped on Kennedy's casket while he laid in the East Room of the White House.
* The ambulance used to transport Lee Harvey Oswald to the hospital after being shot by Jack Ruby.
* Eighteen designer dresses from Jacqueline Kennedy's wardrobe, as well as two of JFK's own suits, one worn on the floor of the Senate and one worn during his presidency.

* The personal limousines and secret service cars of Franklin D. Roosevelt, Harry Truman, Dwight Eisenhower, Lyndon Johnson, Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan, Evita Peron, the King of Siam and the British Royal Family.

*Craig Breedlove's rocket engine, used to break the unlimited land speed record and the 600 mph barrier in 1965.
*The once world's lowest car (Guinness World Records approved), a 1972 Hillman Imp, measuring at a height of 26 1/2 inches.
*The Bicentennial "Money Car," a Cadillac fitted with 120,000 coins, called the "Most costliest Car" by the Guinness Book of World Records in 1978.

Gangsters

* John Dillinger's 1932 Studebaker, used in the Greencastle, Indiana robbery.
* Dillinger's personables, including his gun and bulletproof fest. The museum also displays the gun that allegedly fired the bullet that killed Dillinger.
