The Beginning
After the disbandment of
Ziel , Anthony, Jordon and Steve decided to rejoin to form a new Hard Rock group. Joining them was Matt Moore on lead guitar. They began searching for a singer, resulting in many, many auditions, with little success. Matt quickly left due to personal conflicts, and was replaced with Rick Tauber (ofBreaking Through ), a longtime friend of Jordon. Rick was an immediate fit to the band, and began contributing to the writing process immediately. Ben joined shortly thereafter, bringing his contributions to the table. A two-song demo was released in November 2007, and was well received in the Chicago music community. [ [http://www.thelocaltourist.com The Local Tourist] ]2008 - 7DS Gets Busy
In March 2008, Seven Day Sonnet being playing their first shows. Drawing fans of different genres together, they began making an impact in Chicago and beyond. 7DS entered the studio in April, 2008 to start tracking a new 3-song demo with Shea Villwock of Glasswall Productions. [ [http://www.myspace.com/gallswallstudios Glasswall Productions MySpace] ] Production wrapped in early May, with the mastering of the demo done with Blaise Barton of JoyRide Studios in Chicago. To be released on July 18th, 2008, the demo consists of "My Day Is Over," "Jamie" and "Ben's Blue Coat." Shortly after completion of the demo, Steve Floro was fired due to conflicts within the band, postponing original plans for a full length album. A replacement has not been found as of mid-June, 2008.
According to an interview with Jordon done with the
Chicago Music Guide , the band plans to continue writing and performing throughout the summer. They will enter the studio in September, 2008 to start pre-production on the long-postponed album. With an estimated count of 15 completed songs, Jordon stated that the band will not enter production until a more extensive catalog is compiled. The planned 12-track album, which is as of now unnamed, will contain the 3 songs off of the new demo, plus all new material yet unheard by audiences. A music video for "Jamie" will preempt the release of the album, with production starting in late August. Starting July 18th (along with the CD release of the new demo), a documentary based around the band will start production, with the premise being losely based around "a new band, working through hard times, writing and releasing an album, with the prospect success in their eyes."
