Margaret of Austria (1584–1611)

Margaret of Austria (December 25, 1584-October 3, 1611), Queen of Spain and Portugal, was the daughter of Archduke Charles II of Austria and Maria Anna of Bavaria, and the sister of the Emperor Ferdinand II.

She married Philip III of Spain on 18 April 1599. Margaret was a great patroness of the arts. She was very influential in palace life.

She was the mother of:
* Anne of Austria (1601 - 1666), who became Queen of France; wife of King Louis XIII of France.
* Philip IV of Spain (1605 - 1665) Married Elisabeth of Bourbon sister of Louis XIII of France.
* Maria Ana of Spain (1606 - 1646).
* Cardinal-Infante Ferdinand (1609/1610 - 1641). He became Governor of the Habsburg Netherlands.
