The postcode district is part of the LONDON post town. Sectors 5, 6, 7 and 8 are in use. There are no dependent localities used in the postcode district. The numbered district was created in 1917 and was originally designated as the Wood Green postal district. There has been no significant recoding of the district from 1990 to 2007, with some minor recoding in January 1998. Coverage

The postcode district is mostly within the London Borough of Haringey, with a small part in the north west around Bowes Park in the London Borough of Enfield.
