Nadri is a Serbian Avant-garde Acoustic-Improvisation musical ensemble from Belgrade.

History

Nadri was formed in Belgrade, between 1998 and 2000 by Vanja Srdić, a film director, Igor Šestanj, a data recovery expert and Gordan Stojačić, a "call-it-anything" guy. "NADRI" is their expression for native improvisation in any art form, especially in music. They use this term for any kind of music, performed strictly by non-educated artists, that touches your mind and soul deep within.

Concept

Nadri is a music concept, more than a standard music band. Members or any other people involved in playing are not professionally educated in music. Everyone who has a certain music taste, who feels music and has no fear of improvisation can play any instrument, no matter if it's tuned or un-tuned. There are often some improvised instruments, assembled in nature or pre-made. Nadri doesn't have any rehearsals, classic "stops and agains", everything happens by chance. Improvisation is a result of their present surroundings, emotions, moods and personal instrumental skills. Nadri's guiding principle is "Don't play what's there, play what's not there". Therefore, it's hard to name a genre, because "NADRI" is some kind of an unofficial genre for itself. Nadri is a sort of Avant-garde Acoustic–Psychedelic–Improvisation musical ensemble with an ever-changing line-up.

Nadri Sessions

Nadri makes many perchanced gatherings and social reunions, which are referred as "Nadri Sessions". "Nadri Sessions" take place anywhere the ensemble can play freely in peace and harmony, mostly in nature and in their members' homes. It's not unusual for anyone openminded to interact and play with them during "Nadri Sessions".

ound quality

Most of Nadri's recordings are made with a non-professional audio equipment (Olympus Journalist's Digital Recorder) and, as such, rawly uploaded on their internet pages. Professional recording equipment is used during some special and planned events and operated by their ensemble-mate and sound recording engineer, Miloš Drobnjaković, also a member of Nioba and Mad Cap bands. Post-produced tracks on Nadri's 2008 Still Sellin' album are: Still Sellin', Got To Go Blues, Spanish Piece of Craft (The Theme), A Christmas Song "Deda Mraze" and Back Born Session (Part II).
