* March 30, 1992: Established as Diocese of Guwahati from the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Shillong–Gauhati, Diocese of Tezpur and Diocese of Tura
* July 10, 1995: Promoted as Metropolitan Archdiocese of Guwahati
