"Peculator porphyria" is a species of sea snail, a marine gastropod mollusc in the family Volutomitridae, the mitres.

Distribution

This species is endemic to southern Australia and northern New Zealand.

Habitat

This volute is found at depths of between 25 and 340 m.

Description

The shell is obesely-ovate, sculptured with numerous axial growth threads, crossed by spiral striations.

Coloration is dark fawn, with irregularly disposed white flecks.

The maximum shell height is 10 mm, and width 5.75 mm.
