Blake Baxter is an American
techno musician, associated with the first wave ofDetroit techno artists.Allmusic called him "perhaps the most underrated figure" of the early Detroit techno scene. He worked extensively withUnderground Resistance in the late 1980s and early 1990s, and had several of his productions featured on the "" compilation. Around 1990 he began recording forIncognito Records , who released his debut full-length, "The Underground Lives".After moving to
Berlin , he released "Brothers Gonna Work it Out ", a track later sampled byThe Chemical Brothers . Additionally, he worked withOrlando Voorn asThe Ghetto Brothers . After returning to Detroit, he set up the labelsMix Records andPhat Joint .Discography
