Bear River High School is a high school in Nevada County, CA in Grass Valley, California. The principal is Jim Nieto. It is located at 11130 Magnolia Road. It is a part of the Nevada Joint Union High School District. The school colors are black, burgundy and silver. The mascot is a female Bruin. The school's football rival is traditionally Colfax High School in Colfax, California. The school is located in the Bear River valley, and the street that it is located on comes right off of Combie Drive, which is more commonly referred to as "Combie". It is a public high school with grades 9-12. Bear River also has a great athletic life and great school spirit, with Cross Country, Track, Tennis, Volleyball, Baseball, Soccer, Softball, Golf, Swim, Football, Basketball, and Wrestling teams, including a Winter Snowboard/Ski team. It is directly across the street from Lake of the Pines (L.O.P), a housing development, and many students who live in L.O.P will walk to or ride their bikes to and from school. There are also bus services that go through L.O.P and throughout Nevada County, CA.
