Fictional character biography

On the alternate-future Earth designated Earth-691 by Marvel Comics, the Martians from H. G. Wells' "The War of the Worlds" returned in 2001 for another attempt at conquering the planet. After humanity's enslavement, men not used as breeders or collaborators were trained and forced to battle gladiator-style for the Martians' amusement; women were used as breeders to supply infants, eaten by the Martians as a delicacy. Jonathan Raven, also known as Killraven, led the Freemen, a group of freedom fighters against Martian oppression.

Carmilla Frost was born in 1994 of this timeline. She was taken with her father Andre to the Martians' Yankee Stadium Genetic and Clonal Complex in 2001. Andre was coerced to serve the Martians in performing cloning research by threats made to harm Carmilla. She began assisting her father in his experiments in 2004, and eventually became an expert molecular biologist. In 2010 she became the youngest human being to be designated as a Keeper by the Martians. However, in 2014 she refused to conduct cloning experiments on other humans. But after a Martian Overlord slew Andre in 2016, she agreed to try to clone his corpse in an attempt to restore him to life. Her effort failed, instead producing the mutated creature Grok in 2017. In 2018 Carnilla helped Killraven escape from captivity at the Yankee Stadium Genetic and Clonal Complex and joined his Freemen. In 2020 she learned that she was pregnant with the Freeman M'Shulla's child.
